Got ya back!

Guess what's back? Two things actually. No prizes for guessing the first.

And the other thing is MY BACK! I've had a back injury for a very long time that has seriously affected my mobility. I've been stuck on waiting lists to see various specialists for ridiculously long times (15 months in one case) but I finally had a diagnosis last week and had a proceedure to help fix it yesterday. I won't go into too many details as it's a bit gory but it involved three 6" long needles and at least a dozen smaller ones. I feel like a pin cushion. I'm still feeling a little worse for wear but initial signs are good. It'll be another 6 months or so before I'm fully functional but at least I have a target. I'm tucked up on the sofa in my jammies where I fully intend to stay all day. Cartwheels down the street are postponed until tomorrow.

The response to the video post was wonderful, thank you and I was delighted to see the Domestic Overlord and Turtlegirl also make use of their video cameras. Ripple's surprise appearance was hilarious. I loved hearing both of your voices and I do hope more of you have a go if you can. I really enjoyed doing it and intend to do more, but not for every post.

If Cassie conned you into thinking she is a sweet sleepy little puppy I can assure you she's not. I slept on the sofa last night as it's easier to prop myself up here until I can lie flat. I put her bed on the floor next to me. She woke me up FOUR times in the night just by staring at me. She's got such a dark little face that it was quite freaky to open my eyes to see her just looking at me. I've also lost count of the number of times I've had to come downstairs in the middle of the night to confiscate noisy toys - prime culprit being her frisbee and will whichever idiot thought it was a good idea to buy her a glow-in-the-dark ball please stand up.

I'm guessing my halo isn't fooling anybody.

Glad to hear you are getting treatment for your back and here's to a speedy recovery! Had to LOL at the thought of Cassie staring at you in the night. Fetching look great btw!

Hey, your halo looks like mine ... tilted. LOL Cassie is a sweet sleeping puppy when she's sleeping right? My sister's dog used to stare at me until I woke up. She would have her nose about two inches from my face. Very creepy.

I'm glad you're getting some relief. I hope that it works as planned and you'll be able to do those cartwheels again soon. :)

Wow - hope you heal quickly and that the procedure worked for you! I had fun doing the video post and will most definitely do it again. Next time, I'll try to capture just how truly troublesome Ripple can be. It'll be an expose!

Glad to see you've got your camera back and working and it's great news about your back, too! The Fetching gloves look lovely and Cassie sounds just like having a child around - loveable, good fun but possibly exhausting at times! :-)

Hope you are feeling better from the treatment. My mum has suffered from chronic back pain so I know what that's like.

Fetching looks great!

That smile looks like someone seeing the end of back pain!

Fetching is a great color.

Best of luck with the bones...human pincushion-y-ness sounds a little freaksome, but if it makes you better...stick on!

Fetching looks fab, and so does the (I'm guessing) duvet it's on top of. Pretty!

Yay for photos! Fetching look lovely--what a nice shade of green. And yay! for treatment for your back. I hope your next video blogging shows you doing cartwheels :)

Waking up to a dog staring at you does sound creepy. Sometimes one of our cats stares at us without blinking, usually when it's near a meal time. We think he's trying to hypnotize us into giving him food early.

I'm so sorry to hear about your back! You know I know about back troubles :( But I am glad to hear you are getting some treatment and on the road to recovery. Take care of yourself and get lots of knitting done!

And that halo....You can't fool me, I see horns holding it up :-) You didn't airbrush them out too well hehehe. Just like mine!

I hope all the good signs pan out in to a full recovery! I hope being laid up doesn't interfere with your knitting in any way.

I still am considering doing a video blog post myself...I just need to think of some content worth doing in that format first.

Glad you are on the mend with your back. I've had lumbar disc disease and stenosis since I was 18, so can empathize with back pain and what a pain it is! Hope you'll be pain-free soon.

Hope your back is feeling better, I expect Cassie was enjoying the company, it`s lovely having critters around when you don`t feel quite yourself - they don`t expect scintilating conversation !

It's good to hear you're back is getting better. Cassie sounds so cute, though waking up to her staring would be kind of disconcerting :-)

nice fetchings.
It's really good news that they have found what's wrong and a way to fix it. However, six months is a loooong time. Looots of knitting time! I hope you heal well and will keep you in my thougts!

I certainly know what you mean about noisy toys. When Zindy has a straw there's no stopping her. She carries it everywhere and drives me nuts. I've confiscated it several times in the night by putting it under my pillow only to wake up to her digging for it next to me. Cats aren't as stupid as I'd like them to be.
