Diversion tactics

Thanks for all of your suggestions for Grace. I've got some black ribbon (the white in that last post was only temporary) and if I can't make myself happy with it then it's scissor time. I'll take out the side seams and crop the back in on each side at an angle and still use the ribbon to pull in the front. I did contemplate frogging and re-knitting - for all of about 2 seconds - before I realised I can't be bothered. Too many things to knit and not enough time!

I have just finished a sweater, this sweater in fact, in a lovely caramel colour. I used chunky yarn doubled throughout as a substitute for the Denim Ultra worked on 10mm needles. I can't get my camera to work so you can't see it just yet. I have a photo from a few days ago to show you that is much more exciting, who wants to see pics of a silly old sweater when there's this to look at...

Or should I say her. Cassie is a 10 week old German Shepherd. We picked her up from the breeder on Friday and she's a little darling, but has taken up a lot of my time. My priority at the moment is house training, teaching her a few manners and most importantly - teaching her that my knitting is not a toy! She'd sell her soul for a Pedigree Schmacko so is incredibly easy to bribe train. She's catching on very quickly and we couldn't be happier with her.

Remember these babies?

The fabulous Hazel (KnitYoga) who sent them to me has just opened an online store selling some really drool-worthy stitchmarkers and stunning jewellery. It's well worth popping by.

I am *so* jealous. We *almost* got a German Shepherd pup in the Spring. We didn't end up getting him, but I'm hoping that breeder has another litter this spring. :) She is sooooo cute!

I'll bet your sweater looks great. :)

Aaawww... How fun with a new puppy! I am not a dog person (both allergic and a little intimidated) but even I melted when I saw her. Very pretty!

Awwwwww! I wanna come and visit so I can play with Cassie! I had a German Shepherd cross when I was a kid. He was called Muttley and was the dumbest dog to ever walk this planet but he was lovely!

Enjoy your puppy and give her lots of pats from me. :-)

so cute, with this bright mischievous look! how lucky for you!
I find dogs such good friends (even if they chew your "stuff" when puppies...) I grew up with different kinds of dogs, but in an apartment in NYC its hard to keep one.

German Shepard is what I want too.
Can't wait to see pictures of her as she grows, good luck with the training, and if she's anything like the rest of the breed she will be an easy train!

She's so cute! I love her coloring! Will she darken up to a more "tradition" GS coloring as she gets older? (I'm doggie naieve!)

I am so happy to hear that you got a new puppy! She is adorable. Good luck training her. Have you heard of Nature's Miracle? I am not sure it is available in the UK but it is simply THE BEST stuff for getting out "accidents - both kinds" from your carpet/rugs.

I thought you'd like, she's a real sweetie.

Silvia, she certainly beats my knitting!

Stefaneener - It is a new one of me, taken on my holiday after I'd drunk too much wine!

Sue - will do. She's spoilt rotten as it is.

HPNY - she'll get out of the chewing stage, teething isn't fun for anyone.

Bezzie - she's getting darker every day. All of the 'dirty brown' parts will go black and her ears will start to stand up over the next few months.

Nanatoo - you and everyone else who's seen her!

Seahorse - it was hard not to knit it quickly with that yarn on such big needles.

Diane - I'm taking full advantage of her nap time for knitting. When she's awake she's such a bundle of fun that it's impossible to ignore her.

Knitfriendly - thanks for the suggestion. We're all laminate or tiles downstairs so it's pretty easy to mop up. She catching on quickly too and only tends to have accidents at night.

Oohhh!! Cute puppy! I'm such a sucker for the puppy eyes look. Big stinkin' S right on my forehead. I hope the training goes well. Sometimes it can be a little trying.

I want to see the sweater, but I'm still stuck on the puppy.

Aww, hooray for puppies! The most concentrated cuteness in the universe. Except for maybe kittens. And ducklings.

Enjoy your time with your new addition!

P.S. You should change the setting so that people without Blogger accounts can comment on your blog. Just a suggestion! :)
