Come on England!

ENG-ER-LUND, ENG-ER-LUND, ENG-ER-LUND, ENG-ER-LUND, NAH, NAH.
WE'RE GONNA SCORE ONE MORE THAN YOU.

ENGLAND!

Best of Luck lads. I'm sure you'll do us proud.

I know it's World Wide Knit in Public Day and I hope all of you involved in group activities or just going out knitting anyway have a fantastic time. As you can see I'm firmly planted in front of the TV ready for the footie.

My favourite KIP story ever...

Just after the war my grandad had a motorbike. So he could take the family out, he built a sidecar to go on it. My Nanna would sit in the sidecar (plus the three kids) and would knit everywhere they went. My Nanna is a huge factor in my knitting heritage - she rocked!

All hail Knitting Grannies everywhere!

Ooh, it's almost time for kick off...

It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming. Football's coming home.

Hehe, love your England themed chairs! And they won their first match too - have to admit I only saw the first 5 mins but that was when the goal happened :-D Looked awfully like it went off the opposing defender's head too, oops!

My radio didn't really work too well in the shopping centre, but I was able to let them know we'd scored (didn't find out till much later that it was a paraguayan own goal - still it was off a Beckham free kick). When I finally got back to my local pub following WWKIP day, I heard it was a pretty boring match, but the Sweden / Trinidad match looked good ...

Last time I was in England, it was in the summer, and England kicked Germany's ass, winning the World Cup. It was awsome. Not a big soccer fan, but you can't help but get excited when the whole town parties in the street! Here's to another England win!!!

Your story about your grandma knitting in the side car is just great!

Good luck in the world cup! Since neither Canada nor Ireland are in I'm not really cheering for anyone. Well, I'm kinda cheering for Togo since I picked them in a draw at work!

I'm still not brave enough to knit in public. Love that your gran knit in the sidecar...that's too cool! LOL!

That lavender shrug is beautiful! And you're right, ribbing all the way up would drive me crackers! Great job, my friend!

I looove that story of your Granny, I can imagine her so well sitting in that side car and knitting up a storm - fantastic!

Not a football fan myself but your enthusiasm could be catching! LOL Like Dipsy, I now have this picture in my mind of your nanna knitting in the sidecar while your grandad revs up the road leaving a cloud of dust trailing behind them. I love it and what a great nanna! :-)

Yeah! You're all decked out and ready to go!

My dad calls me with the latest scores because we don't get to see anything on our no-cable TV in the US. And then there's the trusty old Internet.

I like the knitting Nanna story! She does sound like a very cool lady.
